YOUTH CINEMA NETWORK – membership conditions and rules

 a) Who are YCN members exactly? What are the conditions for membership? 

Following the conclusions from the Conference in Croatia 2019, YCN members are divided into three groups:

-        Festivals
-        Organisations
-        Freelancers / Film and media professionals working with young people

* Members that are described as film festivals should be festivals of films MADE BY young people and not a festival of films FOR young people

* Age focus of the members should be from 0 to 26 (that should be the base, but some exceptions are possible)

* The same age range goes for the organizations who work with young people in the framework of film and media; the work they are doing can be described as film production or/and workshops for young people

* In regards to freelancers - they can either be film and media teachers who are working with young people in the framework of film, or film professionals who hold film masterclasses and workshops for children and youth - in that way share their knowledge

* Membership fee for the festival/organisation is 150€ and 50€ for freelancers which is paid annually

b) When is YCN accepting new members?

Prospective members will be invited to attend our annual Conference (preferably in person, but presenting online is also an option) and present their festival / organization / work; in other words, YCN is accepting new members during OFF/Online meetings
